– Kat Walsh
I became a therapist because I know how isolating it can feel to struggle with your mental health, and also know that recovery is possible. My own lived experience inspired me to pursue a career where I could help others find hope, reconnect with themselves, and build lives that are guided by their values rather than fear. As someone who spent many years in the dance world, I developed a deep appreciation for the connection between the mind and body. That passion eventually led me to Dance/Movement Therapy and strengthened my belief that healing involves more than changing our thoughts—it also involves learning to feel safe in our bodies, regulate our nervous systems, and reconnect with ourselves in meaningful ways.
I am especially passionate about working with individuals experiencing obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and eating disorders because I understand how these conditions can quietly take over a person’s life. Whether it’s intrusive thoughts, fear and avoidance, body image concerns, or an eating disorder voice that feels impossible to ignore, I believe no one should have to face those struggles alone.
My approach is rooted in authenticity, compassion, and evidence-based care. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful parts of healing. My goal is to create a space where you feel accepted for who you are while also feeling supported to face the fears and challenges that may be keeping you stuck. Recovery isn’t about becoming someone different, it’s about reconnecting with who you are underneath the anxiety, OCD, or eating disorder and creating a life that reflects your values, not your fears. Helping clients rediscover that version of themselves is one of the greatest privileges of being a therapist.
Outside of the therapy room I love taking day trips to the beach, spending time with my basset hound Tigerlilly or taking a dance class.
